I owned an 883 also, but I liked it. It has more power than the LS650, sounded better, and looked better. The cost of owning a H-D is the only reason I'm not riding one now.
There is great differances in large bikes like the twin cylinder 883 and med. size bikes like the single 650. It is not a good idea to compare bikes that are so different. I like my Savage, but it is nothing like the 883 I had.
